Infraction
- A crime that
is not punishable by imprisonment. A person charged with
an infraction is not entitled to a trial by jury and not entitled to
have a public defender or other counsel appointed to defend him or her
unless he/she is not released on his/her written promise to appear,
own recognizance, or deposit of bail.
Misdemeanor

Felony
- A crime that is punishable with death
